All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC) has announced a two-day strike on February 24 and 25, 2025.
This decision was made during an important online meeting on January 6, 2025.
Why Are Bank Workers Going on Strike?
The strike is to solve problems that bank workers are facing. Here are their main demands:
1. More Staff:
Banks need to hire more people to reduce workload.
2. Five-Day Work Week:
Bank workers want to work only five days a week.
3. Stop Unfair Rules:
They want the government to stop rules that cause stress and insecurity, like linking pay to performance.
4. Safety at Work:
Bank workers want protection from rude or violent customers.
5. Fill Vacant Posts:
Important positions in banks have been empty for a long time. These need to be filled quickly.
6. Better Gratuity:
Increase gratuity (money workers get after retirement) to â‚ą25 lakhs, like government employees.
What They Don’t Want
Micromanagement:
The government should stop controlling every small thing in banks.
Unfair Treatment:
Bank workers want fair rules and no exploitation.
What’s Next?
Bank workers will begin protest programs soon.
Leaders are asking all members to join the movement and stay united.
Message from Leaders
The leaders of AIBOC said:
“The challenges are tough, but if we stand together, we can solve these problems.
By staying united, we can protect our rights and keep banks strong.”
This strike is a big step to ensure fairness and safety for bank workers while making banks work better for everyone.
